Seafood Chowder


  • 1 tbsp
    olive oil
  • 2 tsp
    garlic paste
  • 1 medium (350g)
    leek, trimmed, thinly sliced
  • 1 ½ cups (375mL)
  • 300mL
    thickened cream
  • 1 pkt
    MAGGI Cheese & Bacon Flavour Potato Bake Recipe Base
  • 1 medium (400g)
    Kumara, Peeled, Cut Into 1cm Pieces
  • 1 can (420g)
    Corn Kernels, Rinsed, Drained
  • 350g
    pipis, cleaned
  • 250g
    hapuku, cut into 2cm dice
  • 2 tbsp
    Chives, Finely Chopped

How to Cook

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: minutes
  1. Heat oil in a large heavy based saucepan over medium-high heat; add garlic and leek, cook until fragrant and translucent.

  2. Gradually add combined milk, cream and MAGGI Cheese & Bacon Flavoured Potato Bake; add potatoes; bring to the boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 10-12 minutes or until potatoes are just tender.

  3. Stir in corn and pips and hapuku. Cook and stir for 5 minutes or until seafood is just cooked. Remove from heat.

  4. Serve sprinkled with chives, and with crusty white bread if desired
