Lamb Shanks

Ingredients

  • 6 x
    lamb shanks, trimmed
  • 1 x
    onion, cut into wedges
  • 1 pkt
    MAGGI Hearty Oxtail Soup Mix
  • 2 tbsp
    red wine vinegar
  • 1½ cups
    water
  • ½ tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp
    ground cardamom
  • ½ tsp
    ground saffron
  • 1 x
    400g can chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tsp
    brown sugar

How to Cook

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cooking Time: 120 minutes
  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C.

  2. Place lamb shanks and onions in a large casserole dish.

  3. Combine Oxtail Soup Mix, vinegar, water, cinnamon, cardamom, saffron, tomatoes and brown sugar. Pour liquid over lamb shanks.

  4. Cover and cook for at least 2 hours, stir after 60 minutes. Serve with seasonal vegies and mash.
