Preparation
Stove top:
Serves: 4 | Preparation time: 10 Minutes | Cooking time: 40 Minutes
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in pan, brown beef, add onion and potato, cook 2 minutes.
- Add combined tomato paste, 1 ¼ cups (310mL) water, and MAGGI Recipe Base, bring to the boil, stirring.
- Cover and simmer 30 minutes or until beef is tender, stir occasionally.
Slow cooker:
Serves: 4 | Preparation time: 10 Minutes | Cooking time: 480 Minutes
- Place blade steak, onion and potato in the slow cooker.
- Stir in combined tomato paste, 3/4 cup(190mL) water and MAGGI Recipe Base.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 480 minutes
- Cooking time and results may vary between slow cooker models. This recipe base performs well in slow cookers with a capacity under 5L. When using slow cookers with a 5L or larger capacity, please double the quantity of all ingredients (including recipe base) for best results.
Oven:
Serves: 4 | Preparation time: 10 Minutes | Cooking time: 90 Minutes
- Preheat oven to 200ºC
- Place blade steak, onion and potatoes in ovenproof dish.
- Stir in tomato paste and combined 1 cup (250mL) water and MAGGI Beef Goulash Recipe Mix, cover.
- Bake 1½ hours or until steak is tender, stir twice during cooking.
